HIFU Questions & Answers

Who is suitable for HIFU?

A suitable person is someone aged 30+ who has noticed the skin on their face or neck has become more lax and wishes to lift and tighten the area. It is typically used to stimulate collagen production and hence help delay the ageing process. Patients in their 40s and 50s are the most common age group and it is also suitable for those aged 60+ provided the degree of laxity is not too great. It can also be used for those who have had surgery in the past to prolong the effects of surgical face lifts.

What is unique about this procedure?

HIFU is the only non-invasive treatment that can specifically target the deep foundation below the skin without cutting or disrupting its surface. It is also the only procedure to use ultrasound imaging, which allows us to actually see the layers of tissue we target during treatment and ensure the energy is deposited precisely to where it will be most effective.

Does it hurt?

Most people do not report pain. There can be slight aching over bony areas or a warm sensation in the skin during treatment. Hifu is consdered a vey safe and effective non-invasive procedure forr tightening the facial skin and reducing wrinkles.

How long until I see results?

Clients may see some initial slight plumping, but ultimately lifting and firming will result in around 2 to 3 months after Hifu treatment, as collagen is renewed and replaced with new, stronger collagen. As this process continues, continued improvements can appear for up to 6 months.

How does HIFU stimulate the creation of collagen?

Collagen is a natural protein that gives skin its youthfulness by keeping it firmed, toned and elastic. As we age, collagen loses its elasticity and its ability to stand up to the effects of gravity that pull the skin downward. HIFU jump starts a repair process that produces fresh, new collagen.

What are the key advantages over a surgical face lift?

There are no incisions therefore no scarring. There is also no required rest or recovery time as the procedure is quick and painless. HIFU is also more cost effective than other procedures such as surgical face lift.

Laser Hair Removal Questions & Answers

Diode hair removal is a very safe hair removal method. It is highly professional, has no side effects on the human body and has no effect on the skin. It also has whitening and emollient effects

Once taken off, most people’s hair will be much thinner and grow more slowly, but to completely take off, it generally takes about 3-6 times. There are 2 reasons: first, most of the hair follicles are bundled together in groups of 3 and open in the same pore. A hair in a pore is a hair that grows from one of the three hair follicles in the group below it, so one treatment is required. It can only destroy one hair follicle in a group. Second, hair growth must go through the growth phase , the regression phase and the telogen phase. The hair removal in the growth phase is 75% effective, the degenerative phase is 25% and the telogen phase is almost ineffective.

Perspiration mainly relies on the eccrine glands and the opening of the eccrine glands are not located in the hair follicles. At the same time, hair removal is the remove the hair follicles without damaging the sweat glands, so it does not affect human metabolism and perspiration. The principle of hair removal is the principle of selective photothermal: that is the selected wavelength only acts on melanin, not on normal skin tissue.

Hair remaining after treatment will be thinner and lighter in colour. People who use these methods for a long time, such as shaving, plucking, depilatory cream depilation, wax paper depilation, etc. will gradually thicken, harden and darken their hair.

The frequency and effect of hair removal are related to the location, the colour and thickness of the hair and the type of skin. Usually the whiter the skin, the darker and thicker the hair, the better the reaction and the better the hair removal effect.
